There is a quiet conversation between the brush and the paper. A good sheet listens: it accepts the pigment, holds the water, and gives back something the artist did not quite know was there.
We built our Artist Grade pad around the paper Parisian ateliers prized a century and a half ago — heavy, cotton-rich, and chosen with the seriousness of a violin. Its cold-press tooth catches the brush without snagging it, lets light travel through translucent washes, and lifts cleanly when you want to take something back.
Holds the wash
A serious 300 gsm working weight that resists buckling through heavy washes and layered glazes.
Refined tooth
A cold-press surface that grips pigment, allows lifting, and rewards bold brushwork without bleeding.
Archival
Acid-free cotton-cellulose at neutral pH, so finished work resists yellowing for generations.
